Mission
By improving early childhood education with modern teaching methods, strengthening the health system, empowering women to tackle food security and climate change, and providing graduates with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the job market, we aim to promote sustainable development and create lasting positive change in Iraqi communities.
Vision
We aspire to a future where Iraq thrives with high-quality education, a robust healthcare system, and the active participation of women and youth in building a sustainable future. Our focus is on empowering vulnerable groups, especially children and families, while equipping recent graduates with the skills needed to excel in the job market. Through these efforts, we aim to foster social and environmental growth and ensure a clean, healthy, and equitable environment for future generations.
Core Values
Participatory Approach
In partnership with communities, Iraqi governmental institutions and local associations, private and institutional donors, we can achieve more than we can on our own.
Transparency
We value and demonstrate transparency and excellence in financial stewardship as well as in disclosure of project performance results.
Sustainability
We occasionally provide a hand-out for emergency needs and focus on long-lasting development projects to ensure our sustainability.
Nonpartisanship
We are an independent, nonpartisan, nonsectarian Iraqi organization.
Objectives
Health Sector:
We aim to increase the resilience of Iraq’s health sector by strengthening health facilities and infrastructure, improving access to essential services for vulnerable communities, and building capacity to address health challenges, including those exacerbated by climate change. We prioritise health education to raise community awareness of common diseases, preventive measures and healthy lifestyles. We also implement targeted programmes to combat endemic and epidemic diseases, while promoting comprehensive family health initiatives to support overall well-being in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Education Sector:
Embracing scientific research and technological advancement is crucial for success in education. Collaboration across national sectors is essential to achieve our objectives. We work towards aligning academic projects and theses for graduate students with national needs in climate change, adhering to internationally recognized standards. Furthermore, we promote environmental awareness and deepen understanding of environmental issues across diverse segments of society through educational approaches. This encourages individuals to actively engage in environmental protection and resource conservation efforts, addressing the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable groups, particularly women and children.
Agriculture Sector:
Enhancing the agricultural sector’s resilience to climate change is essential for safeguarding and improving food security, mitigating soil degradation, and increasing agricultural incomes. This contributes to economic diversification, poverty alleviation, and the empowerment of women. Leveraging modern techniques and technologies is pivotal in advancing sustainable development goals.
Environmental Education:
Raising environmental awareness regarding climate-smart agriculture practices and improving nitrogen fertilizer utilization techniques to minimize N2O emissions.
Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Agriculture Development:
Implementing strategies to mitigate soil, pasture, and vegetation degradation through rehabilitation efforts and improved land management practices, with a focus on adopting sustainable agricultural and forestry methods.
Waste Management and Environmental Preservation:
Promoting waste management practices such as recycling to generate energy and discouraging waste burning as part of environmental preservation initiatives.
Research and Development:
Establishing facilities like greenhouse farms and laboratories for developing climate-resistant crop varieties through tissue breeding techniques.
Resource Conservation:
Encouraging the recycling of waste into organic fertilizers to cultivate a culture of sustainability and resource conservation.
Who we are
Our team is made up of a diverse group of creative and dedicated individuals who believe that change begins with small initiatives. Our journey started in a Baghdad café in 2017, when a group of university professors and young graduates came together to discuss how they could support displaced people during the war. What began as a modest effort—distributing drinking water and food—soon grew into a recognized association, driven by determination and a shared vision. Today, our team includes experts in education, health, environment, and management. We work with a family spirit, where everyone collaborates to achieve our common goals. Each team member brings unique value through their skills and passion for serving the community. Our deep connection to local communities and understanding of their needs have enabled us to create meaningful and sustainable positive change.
